Salem woman agrees to guilty plea for obstructing fatal hit-skip investigation

LISBON, Ohio - A Salem woman has agreed to plead guilty to obstructing justice in the case of a woman who was struck and killed while walking along a road in Columbiana County.
As part of a plea deal, 31-year-old Brandy Phillips will be placed on probation for three years.
Brandy Phillips, along with 29-year-old Patricia Phillips were secretly indicted after authorities say 46-year-old Brandy Lynn Lasky was hit by a pickup truck as she was walking along Route 344 in Perry Township early on the morning of March 11, 2022.
Investigators say Patricia Phillips was driving the truck and Brandy allegedly gave false information to police to help Patricia who is scheduled to go on trial in March for failing to stop after an accident.
According to her obituary, Lasky was a 1994 graduate of Salem High School, a mom, and a U.S. Navy Veteran.
