Hubbard man arrested in child sex sting, accused of soliciting sexual acts from minors

HUBBARD, Ohio - A Hubbard man accused of attempting to solicit sexual acts from minors has been arrested in a child sex sting on Sunday.
According to a press release, Hubbard Police arrested 44-year-old Jonathan Bellow, who police say was pursued by a citizen group dedicated to exposing individuals attempting to have sexual contact with minors.
Police say the arrest stemmed from a meticulous sting operation conducted by this citizen group and that the group's diligent work highlights the importance of ensuring the safety of children in the community.
"This arrest sends a strong message that such criminal behavior will not be tolerated, and those who exploit minors will be held accountable," said Detective Sergeant Michael Banic.
Banic tells 21 News multiple groups were involved in the sting, including New York Creeps Spotlight, Predator Catchers PA, Veteran Against Pedophiles, and Predator Hunters Indiana.
Bellow is currently in the Trumbull County Jail, where he's facing charges of Unlawful Sexual Conduct with a Minor and Importuning. He's set to be arraigned via video in the Girard Municipal Court on Tuesday.
