Ford recalls nearly 1.9 million SUVs due to potential crash risk

Ford has issued a recall of nearly 1.9 million SUV vehicles due to a potential crash risk.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Ford has recalled 1,889,110 2011-2019 Explorer vehicles due to the risk of a detached trim piece falling off the vehicle and becoming a road hazard.
NHTSA says this is because the A-pillar trim retention clips may not be properly engaged.
Owners of the recalled vehicles should receive a notice by mail no later than March 25. In the meantime, if you believe your vehicle will be affected by the recall, call Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332.
If your vehicle is affected, dealers will inspect and replace the A-pillar trim free of charge as needed.
According to documents posted to NHTSA's website, no injuries have been reported due to a recalled vehicle at this time.
