YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A bridge that leads drivers to and from downtown Youngstown will soon be getting some upgrades.

According to a press release, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine alongside Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Director Jack Marchbanks announced that over a dozen Ohio bridge projects will receive funding to support rehabilitation and replacement work.

Among those bridges is the Market Street Bridge in Youngstown.

According to the project information from ODOT, Mahoning County will receive $1,878,000 to update the bridge with new lighting and fencing, as well as repairing the piers.

This project is set for the state fiscal year of 2025.

This is the first time the Market Street Bridge has received funding from the from ODOT's Local Major Bridge Program.
