HOWLAND, Ohio - Lane restrictions are expected to begin on Monday for portions of State Route 46 in Trumbull County.

Beginning Monday, February 19, SR-46 under SR-82 will have various lane restrictions in both north and southbound directions between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. for bridge beam placement.

During this time, SR-46 will be subject to 15-minute rolling roadblocks and stopped traffic. Motorists who travel on this route should anticipate delays. These lane restrictions will be in place through early March.

Additional impacts include various lane restrictions on SR-46 between Market Street and U.S. 422, as well as on SR-82 between Elm Road and Howland Wilson Road.

In addition, the ramp from East Market Street to SR-82 is currently closed and will remain closed through November of 2024. The detour is East Market Street to SR-46 to SR-82.

This work is all part of the three-year Diverging Diamond Interchange project, which started in Howland in 2023. The project is expected to be completed in 2026. You can read more about this project in our related coverage below.
