HOWLAND TWP., Ohio - Drivers can expect new travel delays for the next few weeks along the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Diverging Diamond construction area in Howland.

ODOT says that now through early March, State Route 46 northbound and southbound under State Route 82 will have lane restrictions between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., for bridge beam placement. During that time, drivers on State Route 46 will encounter 15-minute rolling roadblocks and stopped traffic.

Additionally, the following restrictions and closures are in place through November:

  • State Route 46 between Market St. and US 422 has various lane restrictions.
  • State Route 82 between Elm Rd. and Howland Wilson Rd. has various lane restrictions.
  • The ramp from E. Market St. to SR 82 is closed through November 2024. The detour is E. Market St. to SR 46 to SR 82.

When the work is completed in fall 2026, drivers will find themselves traveling in what seems to be opposite traffic lanes for short distances at the intersection in the Howland Township business district, near the Eastwood Mall Complex.
