HUBBARD, Ohio - The Eagle Joint Fire District is getting ready to hire multiple full time firefighters followed by the recent passage of a levy.

According to Eagle Joint Fire District Chief Ron Stanish, the department has strictly been part time until the passage of a 4.1 mil levy in November that allowed for full time firefighters.

Stanish tells 21 News he's looking to hire at least six full time firefighters/paramedics.

The positions will first be offered to the department's current part time firefighters and any remaining slots will be offered to potential new hires.

There will still be part time firefighters at the department, but Chief Stanish tells us in addition to more hours, full timers will have access to various benefits. The exact benefits are still being worked out at this time
