The Ohio Department of Transportation’s Transportation Review Advisory Council approved investing $127.3 million for 18 major transportation projects in 13 counties over the next four years on Wednesday, including $6 million for Trumbull County projects.

The list includes $21 million in new construction funding, $35.5 million in funding for additional construction, $33.4 million for preliminary engineering, and $28.4 million in additional funding for development of projects.

Trumbull County requested $6 million for safety improvements at three intersections along State Route 46 and one along State Route 82 and Howland Wilson Rd.

The transportation improvement projects included in the funding include:

  • The ongoing State Route 46/State Route 82 diamond interchange
  • State Route 46/Warren-Sharon Road
  • Howland Wilson Road/State Route 82
  • New signal at State Route 46/Howland Springs Road

For State Route 46 and State Route 82, several safety and capacity improvements will be made to three intersections as part of the conversion of the existing interchange.

At SR 46 and Warren-Sharon Road, turn lanes are planned to be implemented.

The Howland Wilson Road, State Route 82 intersection will be reconfigured to a right-in, right-out.

The project funds will be given in time for work to begin in 2025.
