WARREN, Ohio - Come March 11th, two of the most popular WRTA bus routes will be running again in Warren and Trumbull County.
All routes were cancelled in September last year, due to a lack of funding.
But Warren and Trumbull County provided about $150,000 each.
With nearly $300,000 as a match, the Ohio Department of Transportation is giving a $600,000 grant.
The funding will allow the Elm and West Routes to operate until next March.
"The first one starts at 6:30 a.m. It leaves downtown goes toward Elm Road goes out to WalMart and comes back in. Then at 7:00 a.m., it switches over to the west rouge goes out, and comes back in. So the buses are running every half hour. So you can always catch a bus downtown every half hour, but the actual routes are running every hour," Trumbull County Transit Administrator Mike Salamony said.
This will help residents with transportation while officials look for funding to continue the routes in future years.
