Nutraceutical has issued a recall of its Heritage Store hydrogen peroxide mouthwash due to a lack of child-resistant packaging.

According to the recall notice, the recalled product contains ethanol in a concentration, which is required to be packaged in child-resistant packaging according to the Poison Prevention Packaging Act.

Without this packaging, young children have a risk of gaining access to the product, which could pose a poisoning risk if swallowed by them. The recalled product is pictured above and all lots are included in this recall.

The product was sold at various stores including Whole Foods, Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, Mom’s Organic Market, New Season’s Market and Mother’s Market & Kitchen, as well as online retailers such as Amazon iHerb and Heritagestore.com for about $10.50 apiece between October of 2010 and December of 2023.

So far, no injuries or fatalities related to the recalled product have been reported.

If you have purchased a recalled product, you're asked to store it away from your children or throw it away and contact Nutraceutical Corporation for a full refund or free replacement product. Nutraceutical is contacting all known purchasers directly.
