Chaney High School dean, coach pleads 'not guilty' to OVI, traffic charge
Chaney High School 11th grade dean and football coach Seth Antram has pleaded "not guilty" to OVI and other charges filed after a traffic stop conducted by Columbiana Police on Friday.
Instead of appearing personally in Mahoning County Court for a hearing scheduled on Tuesday, Antram's lawyer submitted the written plea on Monday to charges of OVI, OVI Refusal, and Driving in Marked Lanes. Another court hearing for Antram is scheduled for May 7.
Youngstown City Schools Superintendent Jeremy Batchelor has confirmed that it is Seth Antram, the dean of 11th grade at Chaney High School. "The district cannot discuss anything further as this is an active investigation," Batchelor told 21 News.
This follows a rough week the district has been facing after they placed Chivas Whipple, YCSD's dean of students, on administrative leave after he was caught on tape grabbing his daughter and pushing her into a car multiple times and slapping her last weekend.
Whipple pleaded "not guilty" to a charge of domestic violence on Monday during an appearance in Girard Municipal Court. He was also served a temporary protection order.
