A Warren woman is charged with child endangering after an ATV accident over the weekend.

According to a Warren police report, officers responded to a home on the 100 Block of Vermont Avenue NW on Sunday. to speak with a woman identified as 54-year-old Wendy Jackson, who was allegedly involved in an ATV accident that day.

Officers spoke with Jackson who told police she and some of her friends met up earlier in the day and were riding ATVs.

Police say at one point, one of Jackson's friends let her son ride with Jackson on her ATV, but Jackson took a turn too sharply causing the vehicle to fall on its side.

Police say the child fractured his shoulder as a result of the crash. He was taken to Trumbull Regional Medical Center, but was later transported to Akron Children's Hospital for further treatment.

According to the report. Jackson had admitted to drinking prior to riding ATV, but "there was a while" between her last sip of alcohol and the time of the crash.

Jackson's friend told police the crash was just an accident and that Jackson would never intentionally hurt her kid.

Jackson was not arrested, but was issued a court summons for endangering children. She was arraigned on Monday and pled not guilty to this charge.
