WARREN, Ohio - A Farmdale man who owns a logging company in Gustavus Township could face a prison sentence of three-and-a-half years when he is sentenced for cutting down trees on property he doesn't own.

William Spithaler, 57,  pleaded guilty in January to charges of grand theft, breaking and entering, and vandalism.

Following an investigation by Braceville Township Police, an indictment handed up last June charged Spithaler with grand theft of a firearm, vandalism, and three counts of breaking and entering..

The charges stem from Spithaler cutting down trees and taking them from a property that was not his own. The prosecutor's office says the amount of lumber involved was valued at $35,214.

In addition to possible prison time, Spithaler must pay the victim $35,214 in damages.
