The Greenville Elks Lodge #145 presented a $2,000 grant to the Mercer County Food Bank's MilitayShare program to help feed veterans and their families throughout the county.

MilitaryShare, a program of the Mercer County Food Bank, is a food distribution program that distributes food nine (9) months per year to veterans and active-duty military personnel and their families in need throughout Mercer County. These distributions are private, and you must be pre-registered to participate.

The grant will be used to provide food to nearly 600 veterans and active-duty military personnel and their families that are enrolled in the program.

"The number of veteran households needing food assistance throughout our county has continued to grow over the past several years," said Rebecca Page, Executive Director, Mercer County Food Bank. "The Greenville Elks Lodge #145 has contributed $7,664 to the MilitaryShare program since 2022, to ensure veterans in Mercer County have the food they need to sustain themselves and their families."

If you are a veteran or an active-duty service member in need of food assistance, please call Bailey Shepard at 724-981-0353 ext. 105 to see if you qualify to participate in the program.
