Kent State's regional campus to hold information sessions for displaced Eastern Gateway Students

Mahoning Valley - Kent State University's regional campuses will be hosting a series of informational sessions to help Eastern Gateway Community College students who have been displaced following the college's pause on enrollment.
According to a press release, admissions and student service teams with the university are proactively working to help maximize the transferability of students' credit and providing support for these students.
These sessions will serve as an opportunity for students to meet staff members who will answer questions about credit transfers and assist with the application process.
Kent State's campuses offer many of the same associate's degree programs Eastern Gateway did. Additionally, Eastern Gateway students will now have access to 22 Kent State bachelor degree pathways.
Eastern Gateway students with a 2.5 GPA or higher will be guaranteed admission, and those with a GPA of 2.0 or higher will be considered as well. There is no fee to apply.
Kent State is providing expedited transcript reviews for credit evaluation and transfer staff is providing one-on-one support to students.
Additionally, a personal enrollment coach will help students transition to Kent State and scholarship and financial aid counseling is available.
The schedule for the informational sessions is as follows:
- East Liverpool Campus: Tuesday, March 12 (5:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m.)
- Ashtabula Campus: Wednesday, March 13 (5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m.)
- Salem Campus: Wednesday, March 13 (5:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m.)
- Trumbull Campus: Thursday, March 14 (4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.)
- Tuscrawas Campus: Tuesday, March 19 (5:30 p.m.)
- Virtual event: Thursday, March 21 (5:30 p.m.)
