The Youngstown Foundation has announced on Monday that it has been awarded $1.2 million in grants to support 18 different projects across the Mahoning Valley.

According to a press release, this funding includes $250,000 for an expansion project at ACLD School and Learning Center in Youngstown. ACLD serves children who are struggling to learn.

Additionally, these 17 projects also received funding:

- Help Network: $125,000 over two years for a special navigator

- Butler Institute of American Art: $101,800 for boiler replacement and accessibility

- Down Syndrome Association: $100,000 over two years for general staffing support

- Eastgate Regional Council of Governments: $100,000 for Valley Vision 2050 and housing

- Organizacion Civica y Cultural Hispana Americana (OCCHA): $100,000 for Renovando OCCHA

- Youngstown Area Jewish Federation: $100,000 for community programming

- SMARTS: $78,820 for Beats & Empowers programming

- Adaptive Sports Ohio: $60,000 for Sports for Youths with Disabilities

- Ohio Urban Renaissance: $50,000 for the Youth Education Project

- Veterans Outreach: $50,000 for the transition to Colonial Complex

- Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber: $37,050 for Leadership Development

- Vision to Learns: $25,000 for expanded access to vision care

- Clothed in Strength: $20,000 for the Clothed in Strength Boutique

- Youngstown Playhouse (Monday Musical): $20,000 for 2023/24 season support

- Chickadee Preschool: $10,000 for outdoor classroom support

- Humility of Mary House: $9,000 for food vouchers for Trumbull

- National Inventors Hall of Fame: $7,560 for Camp Intervention

Youngstown Foundation President Lynette Ford says these awards reflect the Foundation's emphasis on local non-profits and the broad spectrum of needs they serve.
