Employees transferring backing will also be eligible to receive a Relocation Allowance as part of the National Agreement.
However, if any employee wants to transfer to another UAW-GM facility, funding for relocation will not be provided unless the employee is on indefinite layoff from Ultium Cell.
GM Lordstown closed March 6, 2019, and left more than 1,600 employees to transfer or select other options.
According to Ultium Cell media spokeperson Katie Burdette, there are 2,000 employees currently working at the facility.
The statement stated that selected transfer employees will subject to the terms of the Local UAW-GM agreement at Ultium Cells, which is still being worked out.
