Flames lit up the sky over a Youngstown neighborhood as fire destroyed a home on the city’s Northside early Wednesday.

Firefighters were still working to put out a fire at an Eastside used car dealership just after 4 a.m. when dispatchers were told that a house was burning on Broadway Avenue at the corner of Griffith Street.

The first crew to arrive reported that flames had spread throughout the two-story home, which investigators don’t believe was occupied.

The home wasn’t close to any other houses, so firefighters weren’t concerned about the flames spreading.

There’s no word yet on what caused the fire.
