An Austintown man accused of having child pornography and sharing someone’s private sexual images is expected to plead guilty.

A May 2 plea hearing is scheduled for 34-year-old Matthew Gingrich, who was served with a nine-count indictment handed up by the Mahoning County Grand Jury in January.

Gingrich allegedly possessed material showing children engaged in sexual activity as well as nude children.

Austintown Police received a tip from the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force that someone at Gingrich's Bexley Drive address had uploaded child pornography.

According to the indictment, Gingrich is also accused of distributing private sexual images of someone and identifying the victim without that person’s consent.

Gingrich is charged with two counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, and five counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material.  All five charges are felonies.

He’s also charged with misdemeanor counts of nonconsensual dissemination of private sexual images and telecommunications harassment.
