POLAND, Ohio - Poland Village Police have identified the man who was arrested after leading officers on a chase that lasted 40 miles.

The chase began in Poland, where police attempted to pull over the driver identified as 39-year-old Jason Maynard before getting on the I-680 on ramp.

According to a police report, Maynard was driving 57 mph in a 25 mph zone and crossed over the solid double yellow lines multiple times. 

OSHP took over the chase, which lasted until Mecca in Northern Trumbull County, when Maynard was finally stopped. According to the report, Maynard fled on foot near a home on the 2500 Block of Mahan Denman Road, but was detained by law enforcement a short time later.

Dispatch for OSHP says Maynard was intoxicated during the chase. According to the police report, he refused field sobriety testing at the scene.

Maynard was booked in the Mahoning County Jail on Sunday and was booked on charges of Driving Under the Influence, Failure to Comply With Order or Signal of a Police Officer and Driving Under Suspension.
