JACKSON TOWNSHIP, MERCER COUNTY, Pennylvania - Plans to repair a bridge in Mercer County are being made public on the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) website.

The project will repair the bridges that carry Hosack Road over Yellow Creek Branch in Jackson Township and includes partial reconstruction of the abutments and a new bridge deck and superstructure.

The bridges are on Hosack Road between Fox Mine Road and Route 62.

The first bridge, located about 1,000 feet south of Fox Mine Road, carries about 375 cars daily. The other is about 3,500 feet south of Fox Mine Road and is used by 250 cars per day.

Both bridges were built in 1965 and are in poor condition.

Work is expected to begin during the 2024 construction season and should finish in 2025.
