Crews with the Glenmoor Volunteer Fire Department and Calcutta Fire Department worked together in the rescue of a person trapped in a car in a pond Wednesday evening.

According to a post on the Calcutta Fire Department's Facebook page, crews in Calcutta were called to assist the Glenmoor Volunteer Fire Department in rescuing a person trapped inside a vehicle that drove into a pond.

Crews were also assisted by St. Clair Township Police Department detective Keith Heilderbrand, who assisted a Glenmoor firefighter by attaching a dog lead to him as he dove in to rescue the submerged victim.

Calcutta crews assisted with getting the vehicle out of the water with rescue equipment from First Class Towing.

According to the post, the rescue suits used by crews were recently purchased thanks to a grant from the Ohio Fire Marshal's Office.
