SLIDESHOW: Pet dies, two children hospitalized after Youngstown home catches fire
Two children were taken to the hospital after a large house fire just outside of downtown Youngstown.
Fire crews arrived at a home in the 1000 block of Orange Avenue around 10:15 p.m. Thursday.
The children, ages 10 and 16, were taken to the hospital. Their condition is unknown at this time. According to a Facebook post from Youngstown Professional Firefighters Local 312, a pet also died in the fire.
At least six fire engines, police officers and EMTs were at the scene.
Youngstown Fire Investigator Charles Hodge tells 21 News a cause for the fire has not been determined yet, but the fire is not ruled as suspicious at this time.
Ohio Edison was also called to the area.
