A woman getting ready to show a home for rent on Youngstown’s Southside was disappointed to find someone had broken in, stealing copper pipes and even the kitchen sink.

The landlord told police she found debris scattered on the floor of her Cameron Avenue rental property early Monday.

An air conditioner had been pushed out of a window.  Copper parts from the air conditioner, as well as copper pipes from the bathroom and the kitchen, had been stolen, along with the kitchen sink.

The furnace and the hot water tank weren’t touched.

Thieves commonly target items made of copper and other metals to sell them for scrap.
