Crews respond to gas leak at abandoned Youngstown gas station
Youngstown Fire Department Battalion Chief Fred Beehler tells 21 News the incident occurred after rain water "infiltrated" two underground storage tanks pushing the gasoline to the top causing it to leak from the tank.

Crews with the Youngstown Police and Fire Departments are responding to an gas leak at an abandoned Youngstown gas station.
Crews responded to the leak at the 1200 Block of Bears Den Road near Schenley shortly before 1:30 Tuesday afternoon.
Youngstown Fire Department Battalion Chief Fred Beehler tells 21 News the incident occurred after rain water "infiltrated" two underground storage tanks pushing the gasoline to the top causing it to leak from the tank.
Beehler says crews are in contact with the Ohio EPA to try to get the situation under control and are actively working to prevent any gasoline from getting into the sewer system.
Emergency crews are blocking the roadways and drivers are asked to avoid the area for the time being.
