Youngstown police investigating 'volley of gunfire' on city's southside

Youngstown Police are investigating what's being described as a "volley of gunfire" on the city's southside.
The incident happened on the 1100 block of Inverness Avenue and involved a silver SUV firing shots at someone, who returned fire, according to police reports.
Police described hearing a "high-powered" rifle being used and shot spotter alerted them to 25 rounds being fired on the street around 2 a.m.
When they arrived, they saw one house shot up and spoke to the owner of the house and three juveniles who heard the shots but did not see what happened. It's unclear how many times the house was shot numerous times before in separate incidents.
Video of the incident showed the shootout happen, which took place in the middle of the street. What looks like a Kia Optima, reported as stolen, traveling west on the street, a passenger of the car was leaning out of it, firing shots at one person, who was chasing the vehicle while firing shots.
On scene, police recovered 16 shell casing from a 9 mm handgun and five from a .233-caliber rifle. which are commonly used in rifles like the Colt AR-15.
No arrests have been made in this investigation.
