There are only a few day's left before the total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, and The Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste District and Trumbull County Tourism have announced that they are collaborating with Astronomers Without Borders to help recycle and repurpose eclipse glasses.

The District is going to collect used eclipse glasses at various spots across Trumbull and Geauga County and help extend their lifespan and help support future solar eclipse events around the world.

The glasses that are collected will undergo quality assessment and the ones that are in good condition will be sent to Astronomers Without Borders to reuse. Glasses that can't be reused will be responsibly recycled.

Current locations accepting eclipse glasses for recycling include:

Residence Inn by Marriott - 5555 Youngstown Warren Rd., Niles

Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton - 5581 Youngstown Warren Rd., Niles

City of Cortland Celestial Celebration - W. Main St., Cortland
