WARREN, Ohio - A retired Pennsylvania state trooper is scheduled to appear in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court on April 23 for sentencing on charges stemming from a crash that killed a driver in Southington back in November.

Joseph Yuran, 55, pleaded guilty last month to aggravated vehicular homicide and OVI for the crash that claimed the life of 23-year-old Tyler Richmond.

Police say he ran a stop sign while driving near U.S. Route 224 and State Route 305 when his pickup truck hit Richmond's Chevrolet Malibu.

Yuran's blood alcohol content was recorded as .196, well above the legal limit of .08. He had been ordered not to drink alcohol due to a previous OVI offense.

He faces a mandatory prison term of up to 12 years and a potential lifetime suspension of his driver's license.
