A high school robotics team in Austintown has just a week and a half to prepare for a world champion competition in Houston, Texas, after placing second in a regional competition in Cincinnati this weekend.

Falco Tech of Austintown Fitch High School competed with 50 teams from seven states and China and took home second prize in a music-themed competition called "Crescendo."

The competition revolved around placing rings into amplifiers and music speakers, and even the robots climbed onto a "stage" made of chains and hung on them.

Now, the team is gearing up for its biggest challenge yet: competing with 600 teams from around the world from April 17 to April 20 at the Goerge R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.

First though, the team needs to raise enough money to cover travel expenses A GoFundMe page set up by the team's coach Andy Yantes, estimates the team needs $12,000 for the trip.

Additionally, the team will be having a fundraiser at the Buffalo Wild Wings in Austintown on April 15.

In the meantime, you can check out the GoFundMe page here.
