Faulkner officially introduced at Youngstown State

Ethan Faulkner was officially introduced as Youngstown State's 14th head men's basketball coach.
He joined the staff in 2019 and was promoted to associate head coach in 2022. He was an integral part of the Penguins winning 98 games over the last five seasons.
Faulkner gets a five year contract worth $275,000 per year.
"The end goal is always to run you own program," said Faulkner adding he didn't think it would come at 33 years old.
I'm certainly excited about the opportunity, again in the most humble way possible, but I feel I'm ready to do this," he added
Before arriving at Youngstown State he spent three seasons at the University of the Cumberlands, one season at Mount Vernon Nazarene and one season at Northern Kentucky.
Executive Director of Athletics Ron Strollo says keeping the "continuity" in place was a key and Faulkner fit that role.
"I think to hire someone externally to try and figure out the road map, that he and Jerrod figured out, wouldn't have made a lot of sense,"
Strollo said Faulkner is going to bring a level of of intensity that fans are going to enjoy.
Faulkner also announced part of his coaching staff including Danny Reese, Evan Faulkner and former men's assistant coach Mark Richmond
