Brothers Gary and Bryan Brantley, former Youngstown natives, attribute much of the success they've achieved in their life to the support they received while growing up in the city.

Gary, who graduated Youngstown State University is now the Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of the NFL, while Bryan is a litigation partner for a law firm with more than 1,000 lawyers across the world.

Now the brothers are looking to give back to the community they attribute much of their success to with a new scholarship with the YSU Foundation.

"Gary and I have wanted to do something to give back to the community that laid the foundation for our success for some time now," Bryan said in a news release. "Despite statistical barriers, we are two Black men from Youngstown that have been blessed to achieve success at a high level. This is due, in large part, to our family, our community and the education we received at Youngstown State University."

The scholarship will go to a student who is a resident of Youngstown that is also majoring in either political science in the pre-law program or computer science at YSU.

21 News has reached out the YSU Foundation for more information on the scholarship.

"This scholarship will be awarded to students who come from our community here in the city of Youngstown," Gary said in a news release. "We know that our parents, community, church, and the city of Youngstown played a major role in our successes, and we are thrilled to give back. We hope this scholarship will provide opportunities for future generations to achieve their dreams. Thank you for your support and partnership in this endeavor."

Both brothers graduated from Calvary Christian Academy in Youngstown.

Gary graduated YSU in 2002 with a bachelor's degree in computer and information sciences and received a master's in management in 2013 in 2013 at the University of Phoenix.

Bryan graduated from YSU in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in political science and received his J.D. from Duquesne University in 2004.
