Dylan's House hosts educational event for parents of children with autism

In Canfield, the Dylan's House organization held its first educational event for parents of children with autism.
More than a dozen organizations participated - from Gabba Camp to Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
The founders of Dylan's House say they want to let parents know that there are organizations in the community designed to lend a helping hand.
"When you get that diagnosis of autism, as a parent, not only is it very upsetting but you have to navigate the whole situation yourself," said Amy Shope, co-founder and director of Dylan's House. "There isn't a road map saying do this, do that. We wanted to provide something that can help out."
