Garages near West Side Tire on Mahoning Avenue in Youngstown were unexpectedly demolished.

YOUNGSTOWN - Garages near West Side Tire on Mahoning Avenue in Youngstown were unexpectedly demolished.

Youngstown Blight Remediation and Code Enforcement Superintendent Mike Durkin tells 21 News the demolition of these garages was not planned, but had to happen due to the basement collapsing underneath the building. When the weather clears, the ground will be graded and seeded.

According to the Mahoning County Auditor's office, the building was owned by Bautista Construction LLC, a construction company in Campbell.
