NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Westminster College dedicated part of its newly renovated Hoyt Science Center.

The college held a ceremony to honor alumni Bill and C.J. Maurer and their donation toward the building's renovation - now known as the 'Maurer Atrium.'

The Maurers donated $1 million to inspire additional giving, that will help complete the fourth and final phase of the renovation.

Westminster President Dr. Kathy Richardson told 21 News that the entire project wouldn't be possible without alumni like the Maurers.

"We're so blessed at Westminster," Dr. Richardson said. "We have about 20,000 living alumni scattered across the country and around the world. They all have a deep commitment to Westminster, knowing what a wonderful educational opportunity they experienced here."

In the fourth phase, a new environmental center will be added, along with a special simulation lab for nursing students and a new exercise science lab.

The university is also planning to upgrade some classrooms and office spaces.
