A man from Greenville will spend time behind bars after pleading guilty to gun charges.

Devon Smith, 26, plead guilty to possessing a firearm and ammunition after a prior felony conviction.

Federal law prohibits the possession of a firearm or ammunition by a convicted felon.

Previously, Smith was convicted on aggravated assault charges and conspiracy to manufacture and distribute a controlled substance, according to Mercer County Common Pleas court records.

Smith is scheduled to be sentenced July 30 and he could see up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
