A New Castle man remained held in the Portage County Jail Wednesday on a drug charge after being arrested with an Erie, Pennsylvania teenager who Police said was possibly endangered.

Twenty-year-old John Wolfe was found Tuesday night along with a 14-year-old girl who police say was in his car as he led police on a pursuit from Pittsburgh through Mahoning and Trumbull Counties.

That’s according to Police in Erie who had been on the lookout for the girl declared missing and possibly endangered after she hadn’t been seen since Tuesday at an address in Erie.

After police issued a notice that the girl may be with Wolfe, police in Pittsburgh late Tuesday spotted the Toyota that they believe the two were in.

As officers began pursuing the car, agencies in Mahoning and Trumbull County were on alert as the chase went along the turnpike and other interstates.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the chase ended near West Branch State Park in Portage County.

Police say the teen was unharmed. Wolfe was arrested and is being held on a charge of drug possession.

Charges are also pending against Wolfe in Pennsylvania, according to police.
