A Sharon man who was convicted in federal court of committing cocaine trafficking and firearm crimes in September 2023 has now been sentenced to over five years in prison.

United States Senior District Judge Joy Flowers Conti imposed the 65 month sentence on 38-year-old Raymond Briskey, and also ordered Briskey to serve three years of supervised release following his prison sentence.

Briskey previously pleaded guilty in this case to possessing with intent to distribute cocaine and cocaine base on October 21, 2020, and to possessing a firearm in furtherance of that drug trafficking crime.

Prior to sentencing, the Court was informed that, when committing these crimes, Briskey had outstanding bench warrants for failures to appear to address drug trafficking and theft charges in two counties in Ohio and to be sentenced for contraband and drug convictions in two cases in Mercer County, Pennsylvania.

The case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a program that brings together different levels of law enforcement and communities to reduce violent crime and gun violence.
