Salem Registered Nurses Association reached a tentative agreement late Friday after 16 hours of bargaining with officials of Salem Regional Medical Center.

Nurses will have drop-in meetings all day on Saturday so union members can learn about the details of that agreement.

The vote to finalize the agreement will take place at 2 pm on Sunday.

Details of the agreement will be provided once the Sunday vote is completed.

The nurses were seeking better pay, saying their wages haven’t kept up with inflation. They also want the hospital to hire additional nurses to lessen the workload.

The union issued a 10-day strike notice on April 12.
