Firefighters from several Mercer County communities are battling flames at a business near Greenville.

Dispatchers got a call just after 11:30 a.m. Tuesday from someone reporting a vehicle on fire at a three-bay car repair shop along Kidds Mill Road just west of Mercer Road in Delaware Township.

The flames spread through the entire garage, sending clouds of black smoke into the sky.

The fire is believed to have started after trash was being burned in the back of the building. The fire spread to the tires, the fence, the building and nearby trees.

Steve White, Fredonia fire captain told 21 News the strong winds caused the fire to spread quickly.

The pictures taken by 21 News crews at the scene show the garage completely burnt with smoke bellowing from the remains of the garage.

The Greenville, Fredonia, Transfer Hempfield and Sheakleyville Fire Departments all responded to the scene.

No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
