Valley quilters honor veterans at Hospice House

That Quilt Group I Belong To (TQGIBT), a Valley quilting group, is honoring the sacrifices made by our veterans currently in the care of Hospice of the Valley-Hospice House by providing veterans with handmade quilts.
The group presented two quilts for hospice veterans and to be used during the "We Honor Veterans Program." This gesture is made possible by the dedication of over 15 talented quilters from the Valley who wanted these veterans to have something that honored their service.
"The veterans that come here to the hospice house will leave with this honorable quilt rested upon them as they exit our building and this is in tribute for what they have done for our country," says Maureen Mcquillan, volunteer coordinator at Hospice of the Valley.
"It is an honor to stitch a quilt for such an honorable purpose," said volunteer Bonnie Naman, who created one of the quilts. "Our quilting group contributes each quilt with lots of love and prayers, for comfort and hope to all who receive one."
These labor of love quilts are made to bring comfort and solace to those in need. TQGIBT has made significant contributions to Hospice of the Valley, including over 24 heirloom quilts in 2023. To date, 11 of these heirloom quilts have been presented to patients for different special occasions.
