A more than century-old Trumbull County family-run dairy announced on Thursday that it made its final delivery of milk and ice cream.

Denmandale Dairy revealed on Facebook that running the farm on Irishtown Southworth Road in Johnston Township became too much for the small family to continue.

“It’s with sad hearts that we must announce that today we made our final deliveries of milk and ice cream from our dairy. We have loved producing the finest products possible and feeding our local community. Unfortunately, running our facility and all other farm work has become too much for our small family operation to continue.”

Established in 1903, in addition to the traditional whole and chocolate milk, Denmandale Dairy offered milk flavors including Strawberry Cheesecake, Birthday Cake, Orange Cream, Vanilla, grape, French Vanilla Cappuccino, and others.

The dairy distributed its products to stores in Trumbull, Ashtabula, Lake, and Geauga counties In Ohio and Mercer County in Pennsylvania.

The original building built on the Denmandale property in 1916 has been in use and still stands today.
