Struthers youth football, cheer league could be forced to dissolve
A youth football and cheer league in Struthers that's been around for decades could be forced to dissolve.
According to a letter from the City of Struthers, the lease of Nebo Field between the city and the Struthers Little Wildcats has been terminated as of April 19.
This is because the city believes the organization has failed to maintain its 501c3 status and does not have the ability to renew its insurance.
The Little Wildcats is comprised of both youth football players and cheerleaders between the ages of five and 12 years old.
21 News has reached out to multiple members of the Little Wildcats, all of whom declined to comment. We've also reached out to Struthers Mayor Cat Cercone-Miller and are waiting to hear back.
We will update this story with more information as we get it.
