Warren man gets year-long prison sentence for drunk driving crash that injured teen

WARREN, Ohio - A Warren man is going to prison for a drunk driving accident that injured two people.
Seventy-two-year-old Michael Lauer of Arthur Drive NW was given a one-year sentence after pleading guilty earlier to two counts of aggravated vehicular assault and two counts of OVI.
The charges stem from a May 23, 2023, traffic crash.
According to the Trumbull County Prosecutor’s office, the mother of a teen who was injured told the court that her son couldn’t work for the summer after the crash because of arm and ankle injuries.
The injuries also are jeopardizing a prospective military career, the woman said.
Lauer was also fined $2,750 and will have a five-year suspension of his driver’s license. He also must pay $4731 in restitution to one of the victims.
