Kent State raises tuition rates 3% for fall 2024 semester

KENT, Ohio - Students at Kent State University will soon have to pay a little bit more per semester.
Tuition for the new fall 2024 cohort at the Kent Campus will be increased by 3% for a cost of $6,528.80. That's an extra $190.10 compared to fall of 2023.
Additionally the double room rate will increase by 1.51% for a cost of $4,030 per semester ($60 increase) and the most popular Blue meal plan will increase by 5.49% for a cost of $2,960 ($140 increase).
These costs will be frozen for four years for the Fall 2024 cohort as part of the Kent State Tuition guarantee, which is designed to provide students and their families a "predictable and stable" model for planning the cost of a college degree.
The Tuition Guarantee guarantees that resident tuition, room and meal plan rates will not increase during these four academic years from a student's first enrollment as degree-seeking students.
In addition, graduate tuition increased by 4% for a $22.90 increase per credit hour for graduate tuition. Additionally, non-Ohio residents are given a surcharge on top of tuition. This surcharge also increased by 4% for a $19.80 increase.
