A Pittsburgh man is in the Mercer County Jail after a state trooper says he led him on a 25-mile-long high-speed chase.

State Police say they tried to pull over a Ford Fusion for a traffic violation early Sunday along I-79 near the Grove City Interchange.

The car sped away with the police in pursuit.

The chase ended at a dead-end road in Prospect, Pennsylvania, just west of Butler.

The officer says that the driver, 20-year-old Leon Lewis, resisted arrest and punched the Trooper before he was finally handcuffed.

Lewis is awaiting arraignment on charges of driving 30 mph over the speed limit, fleeing from police, reckless driving, resisting arrest, and aggravated assault.
