Youngstown Area Goodwill provides displaced Realty Building residents with emergency vouchers
Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries representatives were at the Covelli Center Wednesday afternoon handing out emergency vouchers to those residents displaced by Tuesday's deadly explosion at Chase Bank in Downtown Youngstown.
The Red Cross and Catholic Charities were also involved in the distribution of the $25 vouchers. The vouchers are good at any Youngstown Area Goodwill location.
Residents of the Realty Building are not currently able to return to their homes until it is deemed safe for them to do so, says Youngstown Fire Chief Barry Finley.
However, residents will be let back in on Friday, May 31 between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to retrieve their belongings. Sign in starts at 8:30 a.m. Friday.
Residents will be accompanied by Youngstown firefighters during this time.
Each resident will be scheduled in 30-minute intervals, so residents are asked to be quick and prioritize essential items only.
