Austintown Fitch wins back-to-back state championships

The Austintown Fitch Falcons took down Watkins Memorial to take home the Division I state title for the second year in a row.
Fitch wasted no time getting on the board when Ayla Ray hit a solo home run to right center in the bottom of the first inning. Sydnie Watts then followed up that home run with a homer of her own in the second inning. It's her 13th home run of the season and third straight game with a home run. Kaliana Ray batted in two more runs to close out the inning, and the Falcons held on to a four nothing lead early.
Watts and the Falcons defense held off any comeback attempt by the Warriors. She had multiple strikeouts in the game including a pair in the 5th to send things to the middle of the inning. Watts ended with ten strikeouts in the contest.
The Falcons held Watkins Memorial scoreless, and Watts struck out the final batter to clinch the repeat for Fitch.
Fitch takes home back-to-back state titles with a 4-0 victory over Watkins Memorial.
