YSU meeting with United Way to discuss ways to help victims of Chase Bank explosion

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Youngstown State University is currently meeting with United Way to see how they can help those impacted by the deadly explosion at the Chase Bank building in downtown Youngstown.
According to a press release, the university is working with city officials to determine how they can provide support.
YSU Associate Director of Marketing and Communications Allison Centofani tells 21 News the university's Associate Vice President of University Relations Shannon Tirone is meeting with United Way to discuss what type of support the university can give.
Centofani tells us United Way took a tour of YSU's on-campus housing, but felt like it did not suit the needs of the residents affected by the explosion.
In the meantime, YSU plans to put out a list to its community calling for donations based on United Way's needs.
YSU President Bill Johnson thanked United Way and other local agencies who are helping those impacted by the explosion.
"Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to all individuals, families and friends who have been impacted by this terrible tragedy," Johnson said.
