LEETONIA, Ohio - On Monday, Dr. Margee O'Donnell-Foust will host a ribbon cutting for Silver Paw, LLC., a new pet cremation business in Leetonia.

The ribbon cutting will be held at noon at Silver Paw's new location at 16 Walnut St. in Leetonia.

According to Silver Paw, this is only the fifth location in Ohio to offer Alkaline Hydrolysis—or water cremation. Water cremation, a more environmentally friendly alternative to traditional cremation, doesn't use fossil fuels, doesn't produce emissions, and uses less energy. It's also a slower, gentler process that
more closely resembles natural decomposition than traditional cremation.

"I wanted to give families a soft, supportive place to express their grief and say their final goodbye," says Dr. O'Donnell-Foust. "This service allows families to take care of their pets while also taking care of the planet."

The business will be open 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with pick-up and delivery available.
