Goshen Twp. dog breeder indicted on additional charges in alleged puppy fraud case

YOUNGSTOWN - At a pretrial hearing Thursday morning in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court, a Goshen Township dog breeder had 39 additional indictments added to the alleged puppy fraud case against her.
Earlier this year, a Mahoning County Grand Jury indicted Waidman on 32 counts of theft for allegedly taking payments for puppies that she never provided. On Thursday, 39 additional indictments were added, bringing the total to 71 indictments.
40-old April Waidman, a breeder of English Bulldogs and Dachshunds, appeared Thursday for a pretrial before Judge Anthony Donofrio.
A 21 News Watchdog Report from March 7, 2024, detailed more than a dozen civil cases and a criminal investigation against Waidman after people from the Mahoning Valley to California accused her of taking their money but never delivering a dog.
The indictments will be filed Thursday afternoon. In total, Waidman is alleged to owe more than $106,000 to people who bought dogs but never received them.
